NO E-MAIL FRIDAY
FRIDAY 25 NOVEMBER 2011

How to take part? Join us! It’s free.

Taking part is simple and doesn’t cost anything. On Friday 25 November 2011 you leave Outlook, Lotus Notes or Gmail firmly closed.

Would you like to maximise your contribution to the success of No-Email Friday? Talk about it. Pass the message on. Bring up the subject with your direct managers or the senior directors. Or send your colleagues a link to this page.

Because although a single day without email is not the definitive solution, it is the first step. Everyone who lives and works without email learns a lesson that sticks around for the rest of the year.

Do you have a message for a colleague or a customer? Pick up the phone. Or get up and visit him or her in person. If it doesn’t seem worth the effort to get up and go over there, the message might not be so important anyway.

1. Put it in your email signature today

Would you like to help promote this initiative? Add the message below to your email signature until 25 November:

Friday 25 November 2011 is No-Email Friday. For one day, I won’t be reachable by email. But feel free to call me by telephone on (telephone number).

2. Convince colleagues and management to take part

There’s strength in numbers. Especially when it’s email we’re talking about. So convince colleagues and management to take part.

Is your company fully backing this initiative? Send an email to info@noemailfriday.org

3. On 25 November, set up an Out of Office message with the following text:

Hi,

Today is 25 November, No Email Friday. I am trying to survive a whole day without email. On Monday your mail will get all the attention it deserves.

Do you have an urgent message? You can call me any time on 02 222 22 2x.

Thanks for your understanding...
